HELENA, Helena Bonham Carter
Every time I close my eyes I see you
Catelyn Stark REALLY gets around.
I just have to add to the “Michelle Fairley is Everyone’s Mom” meme - BECAUSE IT’S COMPLETELY TRUE! And this strengthens my argument that there are only a few dozen actors in the UK whose names are picked at random from a bag whenever there’s a show or movie being cast.
I was watching The Others and who pops up at the end of the movie but Michelle Fairley. And her character is married to Alfie Allen/Theon Greyjoy’s real life dad Keith Allen. (They’re the couple around the seance table at the end who want to move into the house.)
SO CATELYN IS REALLY LIKE A MOM TO THEON!!!!
TOO. MANY. FEELINGS.
And this after she’s Nathan’s mom in Misfits, Hermione’s mom in Harry Potter, Catelyn Stark, and Pyp’s mom in The Golden Hour - the last of which is a triple whammy because Alfie Allen’s in that too and plays a character that is supposed to be her son’s friend but ends up betraying him.
I CAN’T WITH THE PARALLELS!
Still not Jon Snow’s mom though.
In a dramatic visualization of the spell, family photographs (photoshopped images of a young Emma Watson with Michelle Fairley and Ian Kelley, the actors playing her parents) offer a glimpse into the Granger family past, only to have Hermione disappear picture by picture.
Page to Screen, pg 199.
All I had to do was: “Woo! Ah! Eugh! Oh!”
Reactions, really; but, no, it was great!
-Michelle Fairley on the ambush scene in episode 1x05.
Michelle Fairley in Chatroom. Criminally underused but a much more convincing accent.
They were my OTP when I read the first book, and then Sean and Michelle (who I was very resistant to as Ned and Cat) blew me away with their OTPness on screen. My fictional parents UGH WHY ARE YOU SO DOOMED.
Tell you the truth… I wanted to see their sex scene or naked rather than this warm and romantic hug! okay… I loved this scene but come on HBO! WHY?
(i carry it in my heart)
